The Half Moon was situated on Sharow Lane. This pub closed in 2016.

The building, dating from 1822, was converted into a house in 2019. However, North Yorkshire County Council issued an enforcement notice in 2024 alleging unauthorised change of use and instructed the owners to reinstate the public house within three months. The owners appealed, and HM Planning Inspectorate upheld their appeal in Feb 2026, on the grounds that the Council could not take enforcement action because the property had been used continuously as a single residence from November 2019 for four years before the enforcement notice was issued. A community group had been campaigning since 2021 for the pub to be reopened.
