The Dickie Bird was situated on
Thwaites Brow Road and was previously known as The Thwaites Brow Tavern.
Efforts to retain the pub as a community asset
failed and it was shut in 2026. Bradford Council has approved an application
to convert the pub renamed in 2011 after the late Cricket Umpire Harold "Dickie"
Bird, into residential accommodation and to build four houses on land behind
the pub. The owners and landlords who have run it for 15 years claim it is
losing £2,750 per month since Covid. |
