The Litten Tree was situated at 82
Marine Parade. This pub opened in 1950 as The Parade Wine Lodge. Closed
c2003 it has now been demolished and replaced by residential properties
sympathetically designed to be in keeping with adjacent properties. |

The Litten Tree was formerly “The Wine
Lodge". The Litten Tree was on several levels, with a lower bar at the rear
where they had live music. Around 1998-2000 a friend and I used to
rollerblade along Worthing promenade. On our return run (the direction
depending on the wind) we would blade across the road, stomp up the steps to
the pub, and glide to the bar to have a pint or two before finishing our
blading session. |
