Running Horse

The Running Horse was situated at 3 Eastgate Square. This pub closed c1903 to become a fried fish shop.  Edward Shawyer, previously a commissioned coastguard, was the publican here  from around 1890 to 1896. The pub used to be between Sharp Garland’s shop and Collins shop in Eastgate square. It was where Amplifon is today.
