The Greyhound Inn was situated at 105/106 High Street. It is not to be confused The Greyhound on North Street. John Hampden, who gives his name to a Primary School in the town, died here from his wounds inflicted at the nearby Battle of Chalgrove Field and the noted bare-knuckle prize-fighter James Figg had some of his early prize fights here. A walkway currently runs through the site and is entitled 'Greyhound Walk'.
