The Bell was situated at 13 Market Place. This grade-II listed pub closed in 2023.
 

 
Listed building details:
Early C18 roughcast refacing of C17 inn. 2-storey and attic. Steep pitched roof, stone tiled to front with east end stack and ridge stack. 3 dormers. Deep coved eaves cornice. Chamfered angle quoins.
East side of front slightly canted. 5 windows to main range, 2 to east side. Exposed box glazing bar sashes with thick bars. To ground floor 1 tripartite sash window to east side. Main range central former carriage entrance with C16 to C17 moulded jambs and large C18 panelled doors. To each side a 3-sided splayed bay window with ogee roof and glazing bar sash windows. Large bell on iron bracket. West end: rubble stone with 3-light stone mullioned ground floor window. Rear: modern tiled roof, roughcast with truncated stack at west rear gable. 2 rear wings, west range mostly painted rubble stone and including 2-storey, 2-window cottage with stone tiled roof and large rear wall stack. East range mostly painted brick C18 to C19.
