The Crown was situated on the High Street. This
grade-II listed
pub is now used as a
private residence. It retains its Morlands Brewery ceramic plaque
which can be made out on the image above to the left of the front door. |

Inn, now house. Datestone to right,
OE/WO/1708; later C18 left bay. Squared and coursed chalk on sarsen base,
brick quoins and dressings; left bay in Flemish bond brick; all
colour-washed in white; thatched roof; brick stacks. 3-unit plan. 1
1/2-storey and cellar, 3-window range. C20 door in original moulded
architrave with carved brackets to flat hood over; timber lintels over C20
casements. Half-hipped roof, one ridge stack and end stacks. Interior not
inspected. |
