The Horn was situated on Main Street.
was a Morlands House next door to the current Chequers Inn. The brewery
closed it in 1944 as it decided two pubs in the village were not feasible.
This grade-II listed pub has now been converted to a residential premises called 'Hillside'. |

building details: |

House. Mid/late C18. Coursed limestone
rubble; late C19 tile roof; brick stacks. L-plan, 2-unit range to front. 2
storeys; 3-window range. Timber lintel over central C20 door. Brick jambs
and segmental arches to ground floor sashes; first floor sashes under eaves.
Gabled roof; gable end stacks. Outshut to rear right. Back kitchen to rear
left. Originally one storey with late C19 brick first floor and similar
extension. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest. This house
used to be The Horn public house. |
