The Railway Arms was situated on Vine
Street. This pub was originally a beerhouse called The Swan but, with the
arrival of the railway in Uxbridge in 1883, it became known as The Railway
Hotel. Between the two wars it was renamed The Railway Arms. In 1976 it was
renamed The Printer’s Devil because its patrons were mostly the employees of
King & Hutchings, Printers. Closed in October, 1979 and demolished in
September, 1980. |
