The Skiddaw Hotel was situated at 46 Chippenham Road. It was renamed The Red Squirrel in 2011 and closed in 2018. The pub, which dates back to at least 1881, was once a favourite watering hole of The Clash's Joe Strummer and Irish playwright Brendan Behan.

Now converted to commercial use.
