The Admiral Blake was situated at the corner of
Ladbroke Grove and Barlby Road. Now boarded up, however still displays the
fascia 'Cowshed'. The pub was used as the exterior location for 'Time
Gentleman Please' , the Sky TV series starring Al Murray. |

This was frequented by my family - grandparents and
parents 1940s (possibly earlier) through to the 1970s and was known locally
as the Cowshed. |

In 1972 a bass guitar belonging to Paul
McCartney was stolen from the back of a van. The thief then sold it to
Ronald Guest, publican at The Admiral Blake. It was not recovered until 52
years later. |
