The Village Blacksmith was situated at 5 Hillreach.

A great pub for real ales, was quite popular in the 80s, but sadly closed.

The Blacksmiths was at number 4 and I loved at number 20. There was a bombed site next door where 19 and 18 would have been pre 1945. There was a sweet/paper shop at number 2 and the Kings Arms pub on the corner was involved in an IRA attack in the 70s. There was a piano shop somewhere too. Happy days.

Carol Morgan	1959	My parents, Mr & Mrs Norfolk, were landlords at this pub in 1959.
David Silverman	1979-1990	I was a customer there for a number of years, at the time it was the De Facto HQ of South East London CAMRA and had an amazing and excellently kept selection of beers. Not sure when it closed by it is at least 20 years ago. The building hasn't been touched since and the signage is still intact
