John Rouse, listed as Landlord in 1881 was my 2x
great grandad. He had been in the Metropolitan police at Marylebone and
Shadwell for 28 years, retiring as an Inspector in 1877. I think that is
when he took over the Rising Sun. He received a pension of £108. His wife
died in 1885 and I know that he had left the pub by 1886. |
