The White Swan was situated at 28-30 Tudor Street. This pub has now been converted to commercial use.  It was here in 1961 where the British lawyer Peter Benenson founded the human rights organisation Amnesty International. Known also as The Mucky Duck, it closed in the 1990s, with the facade of the building retained as part of local area redevelopment.
