The Bowler was situated at 32 Bowling Green Lane. This pub was previously known as The Surprise.
This pub was reopened as The Marion Anderson in 2024.

I worked here as a DJ in the 70s. It was in Farringdon, near Exmouth market & the Mount Pleasant postal sorting office and was featured in News of the World" when the old bill raided it. Great memories of lunchtimes in there with Dirty Diana and Sexy Sally passing a pint glass around while they ripped their clothes off and all the postal workers jeering them on while I was playing "Love to Love you Baby" on the decks :-)
