The Royal Oak public house is a well
proportioned early 19th century building with a range of outbuildings
surviving in the car park to the north. This building is considered to be of
Townscape Value within the Conservation Area.
The Royal Oak is a red brick building, under a hipped pantile roof. Twin
chimneys at either end of building. White band on front painted on brick
with words “ROYAL OAK” in red capitals and “Cottages” in smaller handwriting
style. Windows are UPVC with 3 12-pane bay sash windows on upper floor, 16
and 6 pane sash windows on ground floor. Guttering is metal. Outbuildings to
the back. Brick at the front is newer. There is a new build of terraced
cottages to the rear. |
