The Manby Arms was situated on Manby Middlegate. The pub closed before December 2024, and became a Chinese Takeaway, the Golden Phoenix, with residential quarters above. Unfortunately, a fire on 18 February 2026, caused by an air fryer, resulted in the deaths of a child and an adult, and injuries to three other adults and two children.
