From NE Lincolnshire Heritage: |
A 19th century public house marked on
Ordnance Survey maps of 1887-9.
Two storey early 20th century public house in red brick with buff and
blue/green terracotta dressings to both floors. Replaced an earlier public
house. Probably designed by architect T Clayburn. In a similar style to, and
forming a group, with The Humber on Cleethorpe Road and the Market Hotel on
Cromwell Road.
An important building to the area and occupying a prominent street corner
position the Queens is a well liked building and vital to the character of
this part of town
Shown as a building of merit in a conservation area appraisal from 1976
Note: The 20th century public house is a rebuild of the 19th century pub on
a much larger footprint |
