Originally an early 19th century public house
named The Wellington Inn. The public house was closed by 2009 and was
converted into multiple dwellings. The two-storey building is constructed of
brick, rendered white, with a hipped slate roof and a ridge chimney stack.
There were originally two doors to the ground floor, one on the corner of
Vauxhall Road and Freiston Road and another on Vauxhall Road at the western
end of the public house. The former was converted into a window at some
point and ultimately bricked up when the building was converted into
multiple dwellings. At some point prior to the closure of the public house a
door was added to the façade's 19th century shop architrave and cornice, all
of which remain in situ. A window under this architrave was replaced with a
door to access one of the converted dwellings in 2009-2010 |
