was situated on Kirmond Road. This pub was
originally built in 1695 and now houses the local Neighbourhood Watch
offices. |

Public House. Two storey building of coursed
stone blocks with several courses of red brick below eaves where the
building height was raised. Hipped and gabled roof of tiles. Three ridge
stacks. Windows are 3 over 3 sash. White's 1856 Trade Directory names
Christopher Sheriff as 'victualler' at the Marquis of Granby, and the 1872
Directory names William Buttery. |
