The Steerng Wheel was situated on Hollycroft. riginally Hollycroft House, the residence of Thomas Atkins, of the major hosiery manufacturers in the town, Atkins Bros. It was built c1874 and later known as The Spinning Wheel, and still later The Manor. Demolished in 2002 and a private housing estate built on the site
