The Gorse Hill was situated at 886 Chester Road. The Gorse Hill (originally Gorse Hill Hotel) closed suddenly in December 2015.

It reopened in February 2016 after being bought by another company. The pub is now to remain open with the above floors of this iconic 3 storey building to be made into flats.
