    | My parents were running this place in 1940/41
when Adolf Hitler tried to evict us during the devastating Christmas blitz,
I was 5 at the time but 80 plus years on I have lasting and quite detailed
memories of the bombing during that Christmas. Luckily my whole family
survived and the Frascati stood like a 6 story pinnacle of defiance amongst
the devastation around it. Walker and Humphrey the brewery owners closed
down Frascati at that time, due to the battering that had rendered it non
operational and the devastation in the area. We moved out in February 1941
and took over the licence of the Union Inn in Flixton, now named the Fox. |
