The Talbot Hotel was situated on Derby Road.

My grandfather John Rochford and grandmother Teresa both ran the pub for around 30 years. I've heard stories of my grandfather putting out German incendiary devices on the landing during the blitz and of my grandmother and aunties taking shelter in the basement. My father was born above the pub in 1927.
