The Blue Ball was closed in 1976 despite a campaign by the local CAMRA branch to save it. This grade-II listed pub is now in residential use.
 

 
Listed building details:
C17 cottage, formerly an inn. Timber framed and plastered with red brick stack inserted into an original, framed chimney. One storey and attic, two unit plan. Plain tile roof with one dormer window facing west. Two storey painted brick extension to the south, C19, with modern closed porch and main entrance to east.
