I truly miss this pub. I used to frequent it as an air cadet in the late eighties, early nineties. It had a great pool table, good beer, good music and a miserable landlord- what more can you ask for?

In the early 1850’s John Stratton was landlord of this fully licenced Scrases Star brewery pub, later becoming under the ownership of Strongs Romsey brewery until 1971 when Whitbread’s brewery
brought them out. Whitbreads then sold it on to Gale’s Horndean brewery. It was however nearly demolished in 1975 but is now a
grade-II listed building. It has been converted into flats but still retains the name Royal Albert Hotel.
