The Air Balloon was situated on Flying Bull
Lane. This pub closed in 2005 following a fire. It has now been converted to
flats. |

My husband and I used this pub for many years.
On Friday night Maurice Dennis and his band played there and several members
of the band were my husband's colleagues.
The landlord was known to wander around the bar with a stuffed alligator. We
spent the Queen's Silver Jubilee there and one of our friends was thrown out
for depositing a pickled onion in the landlady's cleavage. Something of
which he was not guilty. Happy days! |
