The Corner Cupboard Inn was situated at 83 Gloucester Street. The pub, open for 150 years in a building built in 1550, closed its doors in 2026 as the new owners who have been operating the business since July 2025 say they cannot make any money because of increased operating costs, including increased NI contributions, rising energy costs and the last budget. The owner has suggested that locals consider taking on the property as a Community-owned pub, "community asset".
