The Three Choughs was situated on West Street.
This 18th century grade-II listed pub is now used as a private residence. |

I remember going into the Three Choughs
in Blandford Forum back in 1965 and being amazed at all the Military Badges
that were pinned to the Wooden Beams. Sadly I think they were all sold when
the then landlord retired. |

In the early to mid 60's, one of the most friendly, civilised pubs in
Blandford. As an ex- school mate said recently, "more of a club than a
pub". The landlord at the time was W.G. Montgomery, retired heraldic
artist , who covered the walls with dozens of small heraldic shields.
Huge fireplace, safe and welcoming for female fellow schoolmates. Plus a
"swing the ring" game. I still mourn the loss of this pub. |
