The Lifeboat Inn was situated at 6 The Strand. This pub was purpose built in the 1870s to replace The Foresters Arms. Owned by Gottwaltz & Lind of Paignton Brewery in the 1890s, then Starkley Ford & Knight, and finally Whitbread. It is now in residential use.
