The Wheatsheaf was situated on Chester Road. This 18th century pub closed in June 2022. There were initial moves to look into the feasibility of it becoming a community leased pub. In June 2025, a planning application was submitted to demolish and replace with up to nine dwellings which has been subsequently approved.
