The Travellers Rest was situated at 39 Runcorn Road. This pub opened in 1865 and closed in 1963.

My grandparents Dorothy and James Linnett were the last landlords before the pub closed. My grandfather died in 1963 as a widower and two members of the family became temporary landlord the last being James sister Bridget Jackson.
