When this old pub in Reading was known
as the Railway Tavern the Catholic saint, Dominic Barberi died there in
August 1849 after suffering a probable heart attack on the Paddington to
Gloucester train and was taken to the tavern awaiting the arrival of a
doctor. How many other pubs have had a saint die in them? |
