The Brewers Arms was situated at 94 High Street. This pub closed in the 1970s and has now been demolished.

During the 1930s and into the war years, the publican I understand the licensee was a Mr Grinstead (Eric or Cyril). I understood from my family that the owner was an aunt, Maud Bailey, who as a woman was not allowed to become the licensee.
