The Locomotive was situated at 104-106 West Street. This pub is now in residential use.

My maternal grandparents Ted and Daisy Ruse ran this pub around 1954/56. I remember the Royal Marine barracks was nearby and three-year-old me stood at the railings watching them play A life on the ocean wave etc. Ted and Daisy moved to a pub at Sarre and then Ramsgate (The Cinque Port).
