The present theatre is
the third on the site. Designed in 1911 by Frank Matcham it
is the last remaining work in London of this great theatre
builder. Previously on the site was Moy's Music Hall,
renamed the Royal Standard Music Hall in 1863 and demolished
in 1886. The replacement building, also a music hall, was
pulled down in 1911. Since its opening the Victoria Palace
has been home to many great musicals including Me And My
Girl, The Black And White Minstrel Show, Annie, High
Society, and Buddy the long-running tribute to the late
Buddy Holly.
