ordinary shares of 10/- each in this manufacturer of blocks and
tiles for pavements. Red and white certificate with imprint of
company seal. Actual handwritten signatures of Alfred P Lucas and G
Livingstone, directors, together with that of A H Davis, company
secretary. Issued to
Wilfrid Arthur Bevan of 54 Lombard Street, London and dated 29th
April 1903. Wilfrid Bevan was a partner of Barclay, Bevan & Co,
which eventually became Barclays Bank.
This company was registered in
1903 as a reconstruction of a company of the same name, which in
turn had been registered in 1898. Went into voluntary liquidation in
1912.
Certificate size is
23 cm
high x 27 cm wide (9.5" x 11.5"), excluding dividend coupons.
It will be mounted in a mahogany frame, with gold inlay, size 39 cm
high x 31 cm wide.
